Florence, Uno
April 16, 2019
Started our day early to catch our morning train to Florence. What a breeze it is to travel by train. And stress-free because they don’t weigh your baggage lol
We had multiple blunders that day. The first being that we didn’t take a cab from the train station (because of a long queue) to our Airbnb. “It’s just a 15-min walk!” … on cobblestone streets with 5 large suitcases, 4 carry ons plus personal belongings. Definitely didn’t think that one through. The second was not pre-pinning all the places we wanted to see for the day and finding out too late that our pocket wifi wasn’t working. We still ended up seeing everything we wanted to see (and discovering a few more along the way), just not with the most efficient route. Our itinerary’s mostly flexi anyway; I try to plan all my trips with enough wiggle room to edit as you go along. I think that’s the best way to discover a new place. To find yourself wonderfully lost and discovering the city by foot. So in the end, everything worked out and we had a nice and easy first day in Florence.
I feel like it’s worth mentioning that our Airbnb is perfect! Best location and has a gorgeous view. More on that in my next post. x
